California DMV Knowledge test questions are based on information in this handbook and the California Driver Handbook. Use this DMV practice test as a helpful study aid toward getting your CA instruction permit or driver’s license. You can also look up videos that summarize the DL handbook, however YMMV with that. You must answer 38 out of 46 questions correctly (or 30 out of 36 if you are over 18) to achieve the required 83 passing score.
